Employers can administer their own group program, or we
will support full underwriting and administration. For those employers
without automatic payroll deduction capabilities, we offer convenient
payment options including: monthly pre-authorized chequing, annual billing
and credit card collection.

Critical Illness Insurance |
Critical Illness Insurance provides employees with a tax-free,
lump sum payment made directly to the employee upon diagnosis of one of
many covered illnesses. Employees collect up to $150,000 if they survive
for 30 days after first being diagnosed with one of the covered medical
conditions. Employers can choose between a 6-illness plan covering: cancer,
heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, paralysis and blindness, or a 16-illlness
plan covering: cancer, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, paralysis,
dismemberment, blindness, deafness, loss of speech, organ transplant,
coronary surgery, brain tumour, coma, major burns, Lou Gehrig's disease
(ALS) and multiple sclerosis.
Employers can choose to offer both our Basic and Optional
critical illness plans. Our Basic Plan provides employees with a guaranteed
amount of critical illness insurance without requiring medical evidence.
Employees who are insured under the Basic Plan can apply for additional
coverage under the Optional Plan. The Optional Plan provides employees
and spouses with up to $150,000 each in critical illness coverage on a
fully underwritten basis.
Critical Illness Insurance provides employees with a financial
benefit designed to ease the stress created by monetary concerns at a
time when life may be endangered by a critical illness. It allows employees
to focus on the physical and emotional task of getting well, instead of
the financial hardship that can accompany a serious illness.
Disability insurance, for those who have it, will only
replace a fraction of an employee's former income, but only if the employee
is eligible to collect under their Long Term Disability plan. Payment
of the critical illness benefit is not dependent on the employee's ability
to continue working. The benefit will be paid, subject to the terms and
conditions of the policy, even if the employee is actively at work. Critical
Illness Insurance is especially valuable for those employees who do not
have any disability coverage in force.

Group Term Life Insurance |
We provide both optional and basic group term life for
any size group. Because of our special risk background we are able to
provide group life for groups that do not fit traditional plans. Our plans
are flexible and affordable. Insurance is available to employees and their
spouses and dependant children.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
(AD&D) |
We are one of Canada's largest providers of Accidental
Death and Dismemberment Insurance for employer groups and special occupations.
We have a wide variety of options and supplementary benefits available
to create a customized product solution for any group.
We have the underwriting expertise to provide employers
with the following range of Accident products: Basic and Voluntary AD&D,
Group Travel Accident, War Risk, Corporate Aircraft and High Limit Executive
Coverage.
Accident coverage is also available for casual, contract
and part-time employees as well as Directors, unions, sports teams and
campers.

Out of Country/Province Travel Insurance |
Special Markets Group provides emergency group accident
and sickness coverage to employees travelling outside their Province or
Canada. Our plans can be designed to meet the specific needs of employees
with flexible plan features and maximums. At a time when provincial government
plans continue to reduce out-of-country hospital limits, it is more important
than ever to ensure employees are covered while travelling outside their
province of residence. Acceptance is guaranteed for all eligible employees.

Provincial Health Replacement Insurance and Expatriate
Insurance for International Employees |
Provincial Health Replacement Insurance provides coverage
to foreign residents working in Canada who are not eligible for health
care provided by the province.
We also provide accident and sickness coverage for employees of Canadian
companies working outside of Canada. Coverage is available for both expatriates
and third party nationals.

In-Hospital Cash |
In-hospital cash provides a cash payment to employees for
each day of hospitalization. The benefit can be offered as blanket or
optional coverage.
