Product Features

Coverage Period
The plan is valid for unlimited travel for one year, from 12:01 a.m. on the effective date in the application.

Fifteen-day and 30-day trip coverage is available. Coverage starts on the time and date of each departure from your home province or territory in Canada, and ends on each return to your home province or territory in Canada.

When purchased to top-up another insurance plan, coverage starts the day following the expiry date of the other insurance plan.

Automatic Annual Renewal Option
This option is available to Members under age 56, if selected in their application. Your policy will be automatically renewed for another year on each renewal date, provided IAP has your valid credit card information on file and the premium is received and accepted. You will be notified of current policy details before each renewal.

All stated amounts payable in this section are per covered trip.

Hospital Confinement and Treatment Benefit

a) Services of a licensed doctor.
b) Services of a licensed ambulance, including mountain and sea rescue.
c) X-ray exams and diagnostic laboratory procedures.
d) Prescription medicines and/or drugs (excluding vitamins, minerals, dietary supplements and patent medicines), for up to 30 days.

Dental Services Benefit
The plan reimburses dental treatment expenses up to $3,000 for an accidental blow to the face and up to $300 for emergency pain relief. The dental treatment must be started within 48 hours of the emergency and completed not more than 90 days after treatment begins.

Emergency Air Transportation Benefit
The plan pays for your emergency air transportation to the nearest medical facility, or for your return to Canada, to receive treatment. The plan also pays for the return of a travelling companion, either aboard the same medical transport or up to $1,000 for one-way economy airfare.

Out-of-Pocket Expenses Benefit
If you or a travelling companion is hospitalized on your scheduled date of return to Canada, the plan reimburses up to $150 per day to a maximum of $1,000 (receipts required) for accommodation, meals, telephone calls, transportation, and child care costs for dependents up to the age of 18.

b) The cost for cremation or burial at the place of death if the body is not returned to your province or territory of ordinary residence, up to $2,000.

Return of: a) Vehicle, b) Insured to USA, c) Airfare Home

a) If the attending Physician determines that as a result of Emergency Sickness or Injury, You are incapable of continuing Your trip by means of the Vehicle used for the trip and Your travelling companion is unable to do so for You, the Company will reimburse the actual reasonable and necessary charges for a commercial agency to return a Vehicle that You own or rent to either Your home or the nearest appropriate vehicle rental agency. The maximum benefit payable is limited to the amount it would cost the Company to return Your Vehicle, but in no event will the maximum benefit payable exceed $2,000.

This benefit is in lieu of the Return of Vehicle benefit as above. It is only available to those persons who have been air evacuated under the terms and conditions of this Policy and can only be offered once during the same covered trip and cannot exceed Your original expected return. The air evacuation occasioning this benefit cannot originate within Canada.
c) If, in the event of a medical Emergency, the Insured elects to return to Canada for treatment saving the Insurer the cost of Medical Treatment in the USA, the Company will reimburse the cost of a one-way economy airfare home, by the most direct route, for the Insured and one travelling companion to a maximum of $2,000.
